NPA approves seven satellite truck parks for electronic call-up

The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) has designated seven licensed satellite truck parks, the empty container holding bays of shipping firms, and the waterfront loading and landing ports for roll-in barge operations and their locations.

The seven authorised truck parks include Anet Construction & Development Concept Ltd located at Second Rainbow, Amuwo-Odofin Industrial Estate, with a capacity for 250 trucks; Bomarah Investment Ltd, 36/42 Adeleye Lane, Orile-Iganmu with a capacity for 100 trucks; Spezial Bau located at Olowotedo, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway with a capacity for 100 trucks and JOF (Nig) Ltd.

Others are JOF (Nig) Ltd situated at 16/18 Oyefeso Avenue Obanikoro Lagos, with a capacity for 75 trucks; Hog-Amazon Ltd, Plot 11–16 Lekki-Epe Expressway, Okrisan Epe Opposite Old Berger yard with a capacity for 250 trucks and Foru Solution B.V. Ltd at 399 Ikorodu Lane, Ojota Lagos, with a capacity for 500 trucks.

According to Public Notice No 4149 released by NPA management, information was made available to direct port customers, clients and the general public on the way forward in order to increase the Ease of Doing Business in Lagos Ports.

The Notice also set out two pre-door truck terminals, namely Truck Transit Park Ltd at Lilypond Ijora and MOB Truck Park at Tin-Can Island Port.

It also identified three jetty loading and landing points for roro barge operations, including Lagos Ferry Services Terminals run by Sripd at Mile 2 Lagos, Lagos-Badagry Expressway, Amuwo-Odofin, GMT Terminal and Normal Flour Mills both at Apapa.

The authority also identified several NPA-recognized empty container holding bays for eight shipping companies that are built into the electronic call-up system. Four holding bays were authorised for Maersk Nigeria Ltd, including Hicee Transport Ltd, Unity Bonded Terminal, Fano Bonded Terminal and Clarion Bonded Terminal.

Lagos and Niger Shipping have four authorised holding bays, including Kachicare Terminal, Denca Bonded Terminal, Seamap Nigeria Ltd and Jealith Bonded Terminal, while CMA CGM Nigeria Shipping Ltd has six approved holding bays, including Clarion Bonded Terminal, Medlog Terminal T2, Libra Terminal, Emog Bonded Terminal, GMT Terminal and Kachicare 1&11.

NPA has authorised three holding bays for PIL Shipping, namely Sinoma Terminal, GMT Terminal and Sapid Bonded Terminal, as well as two holding bays for Ocean Network Express Nigeria Ltd — Sifax Bonded Terminal Ijora and Okota.

The Authority also authorised four holding bays for Cosco Shipping Nig Ltd, including Emog Bonded Terminal, Michelle Bonded Terminal, Migfo Bonded Terminal and Classic Maritime Services Ltd, while Grimaldi Agency Nig Ltd was granted two approved holding bays, including the Off-Dock Terminal and Tin-Can Buffer.

The Mediterranean Shipping Company was granted three authorised holding bays, including Medlog Terminal T2, Sifax Terminal Ijora and Target Terminal Lagos — Lagos — Ibadan Expressway.

Starting Saturday, 27 February 2021, the NPA initiated an electronic call-up for the orderly movement of harbour-bound trucks to Lagos Ports using the Eto app operated by Truck Transit Park Ltd. (TTP).
