RORO (Roll-on/Roll-off) ships are cargo ships designed to transport wheeled cargo, such as cars, trucks, semi-trailer trucks, buses, trailers, and railroad cars, that are driven on and off the ship on their own wheels or with the assistance of a platform vehicle, such as a self-propelled modular transporter.

LADOL Free Zone says the MTC Crane installed at its quayside by Mammoet has made Nigeria the heavy-lift hub for West Africa as both LADOL and Mammoet last week performed the first heavy-lift project using the MTC 15 shore crane.

Lagos Free Zone emerges first, issues N10bn non-FGN bond

Lagos Free Zone Company, the first free zone in Nigeria with a fully integrated deep seaport has completed the issuance of an N10.5 billion 20-year Series 1 Senior Guaranteed Fixed-Rate Corporate Infrastructure Bond, due in 2041, it announced on Thursday.

The 20-year bond was issued under LFZC’s N50 billion Debt Issuance Programme, the company said in an emailed statement.

Backed by an irrevocable and unconditional guarantee from InfraCredit, LFZC Series 1 Bond is accorded ‘AAA’ long-term credit rating by Agusto and Co. and GCR, reflecting the highest degree of creditworthiness for the bonds.

According to the director-general, 783 million dollars had been lost to piracy in the Gulf of Guinea.

Bashir made the statement during a courtesy call by the executive of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Lagos State Council, led by the Chairman, Mr. Adeleye Ajayi to the NIMASA headquarters in Lagos on Wednesday.

Illegal checkpoints: Customs accuses Security agencies of frustrating trade facilitation at Seme border

The Nigeria Customs Service has raised an alarm that other sister agencies, including Nigerian Police, Immigration, Port Health, Road Safety among others, were responsible for the duplication of checkpoints along the Badagry-Seme road, thereby frustrating trade facilitation.

A visit to the Seme Border on Tuesday revealed that not less than 30-checkpoints were mounted between Agbara in Badagry and Seme Border.

While fielding questions from journalists at a press conference on Tuesday, Seme Customs Area Controller, Compt Muhammed Bello Jibo said there are only two approved checkpoints along the axis; Agbara and Gbaji, every other one is illegal.
